This current study works with my ancestral islands through ritual, land-based study, and inherited knowledge. I am working with coffee divination as a research method, using it as both a creative and intuitive tool .
It focuses on the idea of the island itself. This concept is explored through notions of isolation, protection, myth, and resilience.
I have been fascinated by the remedies my grandmother used. She carried ecological wisdom through her role as a midwife. She was also a village healer. She held a deep, embodied understanding of how to work with what grew from the land.
